You may know how to trim your fat and amp up your muscles on your own, but training for a fitness competition isn’t anything like regular training. Competition training has a whole new set of rules, and that’s why many beginners end up making costly mistakes when they train. Mistake #3. Not measuring your progress.

Measuring your progress is important for so many reasons! Here are a just a couple of them:

  • Confidence – When you see how much progress you’ve made, it’ll give you the confidence and motivation to keep going!
  • Results – Is what you are doing actually working? Tracking progress will give you insight into what is working and what isn’t. Measuring your progress gives you the opportunity to adjust your training schedule early on.

Mistake #4. Picking a generic training program.

Every competitor has their own specific training needs and limitations, and there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all training program. To get the most out of your bodybuilding program, you have to pick a program that was made just for you!
